/I'll never grow up! Never grow up! Never grow up! Not me! Not I! Not me! So there!/
Tambourine strode confidently from the water's edge, river reed held between her teeth, ice collecting on the fur of her legs. It flecked her golden body in shards that sprinkled the light with their beauty. With a snort, the young lady tossed her head and stomped the frozen ground, dashing in search of a place she may chew on her new prize. Humming childishly, the naive mare kicked up her heels into a snappy trot, chewing on the reed as she found herself a little place to rest. Pawing at the shallow snow, the palomino was able to unearth a few shoot of grass to include with her pond salad, tucking in while still managing to fidgit about, still humming as she rested one hock then the other. Tam sighed, savoring the fresh taste she only thought she was able to encounter in the lush spring.

Romeo The dark friesian stallion entered near the creek, his long strides carrying him gracefully across the earth. He spotted the golden mare, her complexion almost irresistible. "Hello Beauty." He said as approached the mare, "My calling is Romeo." He stated tucking his head, reveling the muscle definition in his neck. "And yours, if I may ask." Touching her nose as he spoke, inhaled her scent and exhaling his. He flicked his head, to remove his forelock from covering his eyes.

Childish flicka was surprised by the stallion's sudden appearence, screaming and shrilling in fear as she danced back like a little butterfly. Her head flew skyward, highs lifted near to her chest. "My name-" The ladybird appeared to be extremely excited, not happy, but anxious- since the whole realm of age known as "grown" was alien to her, and she didn't want anything to do with it. Tam leaned a bit from one side to another on an unknown pace, jigging as she minced about thoughtfully, humming as if it would hide her secret thoughts from the big black male who had touched her kissers. His colonge hung in her nares in place of her own sweet perfume.
"This flick's name is Tambourine, pop!"
She replied in a childish sense, tail raised and lashing quickly. This was usually howshe moved under pressure. He didn't looklike those she had seen before, and his next action would be key to her. Any advances too blatant didn't get past the shrewd little filly-headed babe, and like with many, she would be off in a flash. It took true charismatic prowess to keep the golden lass in place.

Romeo Romeo watched the mare fling her head, he stepped back. He didn't want to intrude the mare space, and make her uncomfortable. "Well an unsual name, but a pretty one much like it's beholder." He stated, hoping the mare would trust him. He looked down at the mare, " What is such a beautiful mare doing here?" He asked, knowing why she was here but wanted to talk to her more.
His head high, the sun glistening off his mane. He was a picture from a fairy tale, and he knew it. He knew he was handsome, but never bragged about it. He kept to himself most of the time, besides when it came to mares. He again tucked his maw, and back up a step giving the mare space. He waited calmly for the mare's reply, his forelock falling lightly over his face and touching the tip of his nose.

At this, the lady let loose a scream of anxiety, flinging herself up. she knew what he was after- and she wanted no part of his mature and lackluster life in a herd. Never! She calmed down and appeared to stare him down warily, her stance chilly in a ways like the winter world around them. "I'm playing. Living." She answered simple-mindedly, her light voice cheering up as she thought away from the brute who stood before her. "I never want to be like them- I wanna be young and free al the days of my life, and there's nothing you can do, you big meany!" She stared at him, then turned her back, appearing to pout immaturely.
This didn't meant he mare was not lonely snubbing off the stallion who approached her, but in her head- they all had the same thing on their minds- Sex- and the same thing all over them- Cooties. Those little buggers would do anything for a mare like her, and make her itch and chew her own tail off according to her eccentric mother! And these behavior weren't a sigh of mental slowness, she was sharp as a whip- shesimply had that foalish mind. Tammy stuck her nose up, clearly trying to make him move off, uncomfortable with being around him.

Romeo The black stallion nodded his head, "I understand Tam... I mean Tambourine." He corrected himself, knowing she might not like him calling her Tam. He walked up to the mare, and pulled her mane lightly. "I will leave if that is what you wish." He stated, knowing she wasn't ready to be part of a herd. he turned to leave, trotting ever so gracefully. He understood that the mare wasn't ready and was sure he would find a few mares soon.

Tambourine flinched as me moved over to her to pull the lady's bright mane, ducking almost fearfully under him. "Tam- Tam." She repeated, letting him know it was possible for him to call her by that name. After all, she wouldn't've given him her name in the first place if she hadn't thought he'd resort to that shortening. He left her and turned to leave, only taking a few steps before the loneliness washed over the flicka's body again.
"I don't wanna be a stallion's mare- but that doesn't make me lonely." She frowned and lowered her head a bit. "Wait!" she called after him and kicked up her heels, screeching as her frame suppled and arched to catch up with him. She came about before him, half-trotting sideways as she spoke. "At least can we be friends? It gets so lonely here." She sighed- This was a word to her that she associated more for how he referred one as one of his "mares?. If he desired so, he could use his words to convince her to join him, as a "friend" than just a "mare"It made her feel a bit more special, and anything that boosted her ego made her more willing to follow. And then again, anything he thought of that he wished to do to a mare, well- that would take time before she'd allow him, or she'd simply up and run. "Well, friend?"

Romeo He turned and looked at the mare,"I would like that." He said, trotting back to her. "If you need anything, and I mean anything at all, please just ask." He said, playfully nipping her shoulder. He tucked his maw and pranced about, like a small colt. He jumped into a ground eatting lope around the mare, and nipped her lightly again .He smiled at her as he galloped of a little ways, then turned to she if she was going to play.

Tambourine's body arched and bent almost to an L shape to avoid his teeth, bucking and kicking a bit as unease lanced about in her belly like a painfully biting horsefly. She swung about and nudged his rump as he came around again, bolting off, her body interpeting this as a fleeing movement. She picked up her pace and sped almost out of sigh, arching back around as she loped loose circles in the dust. She spun and gamboled a small ways off, appearing as if on the verge of fleeing permenantly.

Romeo The stallion watched her walk away, and trotted after her. He didn't want her to leave, he was just playing. He trotted past the mare, and tossed his maw. He wanted her to feel comfortable around him, but it seemed it wasn't working.

Tambourine's body caught up with her head, legs digging in. She turned and snorted at him, bumping up beside him friskily. She was in a playful mood, just a little more flighty than usual. She kicked up her ears and nipped his rump. "Tag!" She cried, taking off, letting him have an easy time chasing her.
