 Some things had changed since her mothers death a little time back. She was now older but not any wiser. She was always in eye site of Aponi she was like a sister to her, She really helped Cascade get over her loss.
The odd shaped lake apeared infront of the thursty filly, "Come on Aponi!" She called back, as she cantered towards the liquid gold. She took a long drink, her front hooves in the water her backs in the snow. |

Aponi stopped trotting and went to a fast canter, her mane blowing slightly in the winter wind. She grinned when she saw Cascade and looked at the odd shaped creek. Like a heart. She licked her lips on the ice before lifting her hoof and smashing the brittle coating. Then taken aback by the icyness of the water. It stung.
She walked slowly over to Cascade and paused, looking into the distance. It had been four months since Sorrel had died and had been a big hit to the yearling, Aponi at her side everytime that Cascade had to cry. They had bonded and were twined like sisters, happy as could be. "I'm here!" shereplied to the impatient filly, her long eye lashes fluttering. |

Cascade Grined as her sister friend came racing to the lake, a happy grin formed on her pink muzzle. "I Beat you" She said childishly walking out of the icey water and wagging her tail playfuly.

Aponi grinned, laughing loudly as Cascade wagged her tail like a canine."What are you, a dog?" giggled Aponi, nudging Cascade playfully before looking at her reflection in the pool of water. She saw her chocolate roan coat and her dark brown mane. Her brown eyes shone brightly and she licked up some more water. |

A cheeky smile broke onto Cascade's face, "No!" She said in a playful angry voice, then when Aponi had her eyes in the water, Cascade jumped up and splashed water towards Aponi's head playfully, then ran away so Aponi couldn't do the same to her, she still had a cheeky smile on her face.

Aponi rolled her mocha colored eyes, trotting up to the foal-like filly. "You klutz." she nickered, looking off into the distance. Maybe, a stallion would come. To claim her friend. Her only friend. She'd make him leave, one way or another...she'd have to. |

Cascade was still smiling as Aponi roled her eyes as her. She laughed at Aponis comment. then Aponi seemed to have gotted distracted by somthing in the distance. Cascade walked beside her and followed her friends eye line trying to see what she was looking at. "What is it" She whipered under the belief Aponi was looking at somthing importent.

 A strong shining pure black stallion entered the clearing, looking out across a peasful looking lake. The smell of horses was strong in the warm spring air, a he lifted his beautiful head and snorted low, a sinister sort of snort. He lifted his long legs and brock into a powerful canter, appering to be in slow mosion. She stopped looking out across the smooth water. The sun was high in the sky, and light fell across the warm land easly. But the black stallions coat didnt seem to shine, instead it seemed to admit an eary silver-gold shine in the light. He reached his powerfull neck down and tueched his dark nose to the light blue surface, and snorted maknig ripples streem out efertlely. His black-gold eyes scanned the edge of the pool, and lifted his head fast as he spotted two horses the other side of the glisening pool. She winnied deeply over to them. And then turned back tothe pool surface waiting. |

Cascade was so distracted by Aponi she didn't hear the stranger till he spoke. She spun round startled and almost wacked Aponi as she turned. "Hello, Who are you?" She asked friendly and rather naive towards the stallion. trotting towards the odd lake and standing with the lake between the two.

The great black stallion snorted darkly looking other toward the little mare, considering her. His ears pinned on the fillys face the other side of the lake and lifted his dark head up to face her Gold He sorted briscly still pinned on the mare. He considered her a little longer and then walked stridedly across the lake toward the mare, his black and gold eyes searching hers say if he were exraying her. he stopped half way round and waited to see if she truested enough to meet him.

Cascade smiled as the new horse aproched, "I'm Cascade" She said cheeraly watching the stallion walk round the lake, She took afue steps towards the stallion then stopped and looked back at Aponi. She didn't want to wonder too far from her suragate sister. "Nice to meet you Gold" she said looking back towards the black stallion.

Gold smiled and turned two glaze the green grass at the lake side inches from were the water meet the land. He whatched playfully as a fish rised to the serface and glopped at the air. Then his mined wanderd to the little filly close by. why wasnt she with her mother? He thought, he now she was old enough to be alone but many wouldnt have left them by now. Weres your mother? he asked coolly loooking at her with intrest.

Aponi's nostril flared with anger. This stallion was just a nosy little...thing that wanted to get Cascade. "That, is none of your business!" she snorted, rearing slightly and getting between Gold and Cascade. She...she had seen him before and didn't trust him. "Back...off." she growled through gritted teeth, her eyes a cold fire. |

Cascade jumped backwards, "Whats wrong Aponi!? She asked walking to the side of her curiously. SHe looked towards Gold, He didn't seem threatening. "Aponi He didn't do anything" she said trying to defend him. "My Mums dead" She said to Gold coldly thinking about her mother.
